Our very own, exciting, and crazy fun game! Brought to you by … drum roll … the Customer Sharing Movement!

You play in teams. Each team’s goal is to get their team to guess all their team’s color words. These words were selected by our resident Workday experts, and you need to know Workday to succeed. Important! If a team guesses the “X” card, they instantly lose.

This is definitely a “learn” moment, as this game will be unveiled to the world right at pre-Rising.

Learn how to play, and take the game home to play with your colleagues, coworkers, friends (since all your friends are Workday fans anyway), or family (as they're Workday experts just by osmosis, and you telling them all your war stories).

Checkers

Checkers, also known as draughts, is a strategy board game played on an 8x8 board of squares, similar to a chessboard. Each player starts with 12 pieces placed on the dark squares of the board's first three rows. The objective is to capture all of the opponent's pieces or block them so they cannot move. Pieces move diagonally and can capture an opponent's piece by jumping over it. When a piece reaches the opposite side of the board, it is crowned as a "king," gaining the ability to move backward.

Checkers has ancient origins, dating back to 3000 B.C. in Mesopotamia. The game spread through Europe and eventually evolved into the modern version. Known for its simplicity yet strategic depth, checkers remains a popular pastime worldwide.

Othello

Othello, also known as Reversi, is a strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid. The game is designed for two players, each starting with two discs on the board, one side black and the other white. The objective is to have the majority of discs showing your color by the end of the game. Players take turns placing a disc on the board, with their color facing up, so that it brackets one or more of the opponent's discs in a straight line. All bracketed discs are flipped to the active player's color.

Othello was popularized in its current form by the Japanese company Tsukuda Original in 1971 and later by Mattel, who marketed it worldwide. The game is known for its simple rules but deep strategic play, often described as "a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.

Backgammon

Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games, combining elements of strategy and luck. It is played by two players on a board divided into 24 narrow triangles, called points. Each player has 15 pieces, or checkers, that move according to the roll of two dice. The objective is to move all of one's checkers around the board and bear them off, or remove them from the board, before the opponent does.

Backgammon's origins date back over 5,000 years to ancient Mesopotamia, with variations of the game appearing in different cultures throughout history. It became particularly popular in the Middle East and Europe. The game is well-known for its combination of chance and skill, making it a dynamic and enduring classic.

Chess

Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid of squares, known as a chessboard. Each player controls 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The objective is to checkmate the opponent's king, meaning it is under threat of capture with no legal move to escape.

Chess originated in India around the 6th century, evolving from the game chaturanga. It spread to Persia and then Europe, where it underwent various changes to become the game we know today. Chess is renowned for its deep strategy, requiring foresight, planning, and tactics. It has a rich history of global competition and is considered a benchmark of intellectual prowess.

Blackjack

Blackjack is a popular casino card game where the goal is to have a hand value closer to 21 than the dealer's hand without exceeding 21. Players are dealt two cards and can choose to "hit" (take another card) or "stand" (keep their current hand). The face cards are worth 10, and an Ace can be worth 1 or 11, depending on the player's choice.

Blackjack's origins date back to 17th-century France, where it was known as "Vingt-et-Un" (Twenty-One). It gained widespread popularity in the 20th century in American casinos and remains one of the most iconic and widely played casino games due to its blend of luck and strategy.

Craps

Craps is a dice game in which players bet on the outcomes of the roll of a pair of dice. Players can wager money against each other (playing "street craps") or against a bank ("casino craps"). We will play against the bank. While shooting craps, players may use slang terminology to place bets and actions

Craps developed in the United States from a simplification of the western European game of hazard. The origins of hazard are obscure and may date to the Crusades. Hazard was brought from London to New Orleans in approximately 1805.

Roulette

Roulette (French: “small wheel”) emerged in the late 18th century in the casinos of Europe. After a small ball is released in the opposite direction of a revolving wheel, players make bets concerning which red or black numbered compartment the ball will enter as it comes to rest. Bets are placed on a table marked to correspond with the compartments of the wheel. All bets are placed against the “house,” or casino bank.
